Tasha Kalisher: Turning expertise into a story people can recommend

Tasha Kalisher had spent 17 years building expertise as a shiatsu practitioner, qigong teacher and sauna master. In Bristol, that had translated into a thriving word-of-mouth clinic. Yet four years after moving to South Devon, she’d not been able to replicate the same success. Her problem wasn’t the quality of her work. It was the gap between how good she was and how clearly that came across. We rebuilt the foundations of her brand, then carried that through her messaging, website, photography and print, giving her renewed confidence to share her story and a profile that finally matches her expertise.

The challenge

Tasha had built her Bristol practice largely through reputation and recommendation. Moving her family to South Devon meant starting again without the network that had taken years to build. She’d tried posters, leaflets and social media, but nothing had given her Devon practice the traction she needed. She’d begun to lose confidence in how to talk about her own work.

My challenge was to:

  • Articulate what makes Tasha’s practice distinctive and credible

  • Find language that explains what she does without falling into generic wellness messaging

  • Rebuild her website around a clear story and structure

  • Curate photography and print materials that feel consistent with the quality of her work

  • Give Tasha the confidence and tools to communicate her own expertise

Strategy: Finding Tasha’s story

The starting point was simple: in a word-of-mouth market, clarity makes recommendation easier. Everything needed to make it easier for someone to understand what Tasha offered, remember her and confidently recommend her to someone else.

  • Message before medium: We started with the foundations, defining Tasha’s positioning, messaging, elevator pitch, tone of voice and brand promise: people can change the patterns of a lifetime.

  • Credibility made visible: Tasha’s experience and training needed to be front and centre. We moved away from vague wellness language and built a story around the depth, rigour and specificity of her practice.

  • One consistent story, everywhere: The strategic foundations we’d crafted then informed the website, photography, poster, leaflet and case studies. We ensured she looked and sounded the same at every brand touch point.

Client testimonial

“I approached Suzy after feeling like I was not able to match my level of experience and expertise to the size of my clinic. My confidence had taken a knock, and reading Suzy’s scope of work was very emotional, as I saw myself reflected in her words.

Running a small business and being self employed is hard. We end up having to be experts in all fields: PR, website design, social media, as well as the business we run. By using Suzy and Sue Porter I handed over to the experts, and now have a website I feel proud of, content for my social media, high end posters and cards, and a very clear understanding of how to make the best of it all. I also know how to sell myself: how to explain to people what it is I actually do.

I have already had two bookings from my new poster, and know that this work will more than pay for itself. Suzy was so professional, clear and easy to work with, and her attention to detail and commitment to producing the highest quality of work was a joy to be led by.”
